Obituary of Donna Stoker
Donna Rae Stoker was born to Emory and Alice Thomas on May 8, 1943 in Las Animas, Colorado. The Thomas Homestead located South of Las Animas on Hwy 101 is where she grew up. Donna had 9 sisters and 1 brother. She met her husband, Leland Stoker, after a basketball game in 1958 and in August of 1959 they were married. Donna and Leland had 3 children, Mark, Aaron and Cindy.
During her life Donna wore many hats. She was a homemaker, worked at different jobs and did whatever was needed to help the family. Many of you know her from her years as a waitress at Skelly’s, she later worked out at the Wheeler’s County General Store and when Wheeler’s closed, she went to work at Farmers Ford New Holland. She was well known for her hard work, giving people a hard time and being feisty. (If you knew her, you knew not to make her mad, or mess with her family.) Donna was also someone you could count on if you needed something, and when times were hard she was there.
Proceeding her in death were her parents, Emory and Alice Thomas, sisters, Anna Marie, Charlene & Lorna, brother David, son, Aaron, and great granddaughter Raelynn. Left behind to keep her legacy going are her husband, Leland Stoker, son, Mark Stoker & wife Louise, daughter, Cindy Sholes & husband Sam, grandchildren Heather & husband Danny, Misty & partner Kyle, Mindy & husband Jerry and Seth & wife Masyl, great grandchildren, Vyktoreya, Clayton, Korey, Krysteen, Drake, Ashttyn, Hayden, Riley, Naelynn, JaRae and Jackson – also all the kids that call her grandma, remaining 6 sisters and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
