Obituary of Reba Benjamin
Reba G. Davis Benjamin, 99, of Agate, CO passed away on Sunday February 13, 2022 in Limon. Reba was born in Denver, Colorado on July 30, 1922 to parents Charles Ovid and Hazel (Mallory) Davis. She was the 2nd child of 6 children and was raised in the Agate area. She attended grade school in Deer Trail, and graduated from Simla High School in 1940, where she met the love of her live, Robert “Bob” Benjamin, also of the Agate area. They eloped in Goodland, KS on a rainy afternoon on August 20, 1941. The couple then had a son Donald, and a daughter Gail.
Besides being a wonderful, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Reba also enjoyed spending time with her best friend and oldest sister Cleta Nagel. Reba was an avid bowler, playing on several leagues, played cards, tended her flower garden every year, and held dinner parties with friends and family.
Reba lived in her home until the age of 93 when she decided to move to Limon into Carla’s Cluster Care, now known as Aspen Leaf Assisted Living Center. She made several good friends with the people at the Center, and enjoyed reading a lot of novels in her spare time.
Reba is preceded in death by her parents, Sisters- Cleta, Myrtle, & Darlene; Brothers- Bob, and Denver “Denny”; Her Husband of 71 years, Robert Benjamin, and her daughter Gail, and Son-in-Law, Larry Pitzer.
She is survived by her Son Donald (Stephanie) Benjamin of Goodland, KS; Grandchildren: Amy (Eric) Noah of Marana, AZ, Brian Benjamin of Goodland, KS, and Kendra (Chris) Minich of Strasburg, CO; and Great-Grandchildren Kiley Benjamin & Preston Minich; and many other family and friends.
Per Reba’s wishes there will be no services held. At a later date, the family will gather to put both Reba and her husband’s ashes in their crypt at Fairmount Mortuary in Aurora, CO.
