Obituary of Lori Shalosky
Lori Dawn (Parmer) Shalosky age 54 of Limon, Colorado passed away Thursday August 11, 2016 at the Lincoln Community Hospital in Hugo, Colorado. She was born October 5, 1961 in Flagler, Colorado the daughter of Richard F. and Cherie L. (Piper) Parmer.
Lori had a long time affection for Ken and desired to be with him since she was about 12. On October 30, 1999 in Limon, Colorado at the Church of Christ, Lori was finally united in marriage to Kenneth James Shalosky. They shared over 16 years of marriage. They both truly loved each other and practiced the old adage, “Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff”.
Lori was the proud owner and operator of Capitol Blends Gourmet Coffee, Tea’s and more from 1990-1999 in Carson City, Nevada. It was her true passion and she met a lot of people which brought her much joy. She had a great sense of humor, always enjoyed a good conversation and loved taking care of her customers. It was said that her coffee was the strongest and that you could stand a spoon up in it. She later moved to Limon and worked as a desk clerk at the Super 8 Hotel and she worked at Hoffman Drug in the card and paper craft department. Lori took much enjoyment in her spare time in making cards, painting and paper crafts. She was always creating and making very original and unique items. Lori was a member of the Church of Christ in Limon and her love for Christ could always be seen through her perpetual optimism and how she always looked for the good in people.
Lori could be described as strong minded, very determined and always had a never give up attitude. She endured much pain due to her illness but like her mother, seldom complained and always had a happy go lucky frame of mind. She was always looking after her family and especially her sister Brenda. She will be greatly missed by the many friends she made wherever she went and by her family she loved so much. Her spirit and her love will be expressed in their daily lives forever.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents and her mother Cherie L. Parmer.
Lori is survived by her loving and dedicated husband, Ken J. Shalosky of the home; her father, Richard F. Parmer of Hugo, Colorado; one brother, Brian Parmer (Kim) of Hugo, Colorado; four sisters, Brenda Goines (Rich) of Hugo, Colorado, Debbie Burgess (Dwight) of Grand Junction, Colorado, Diana Jeans (Danny) of Ellijay, Georgia and Beverly Burgess (Gary) of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and many nieces and nephews.
