Obituary of Michael Dean Parker
Michael “Dean” Parker was born July 1, 1954 to Ronald and Daisy Parker of Karval, Colorado. He was a quiet, simple man, with a heart of gold. The perfect definition of a humble man. A man with few words, few needs and few wants. He didn't like a lot of fuss, but if that's what other people wanted he would just say, “that's fine, whatever they want”. If you ever had the pleasure to sit and visit with Dean you would know the conversation would never be dull. You could always count on a laugh and smile from Dean.
His most enjoyable years were working side by side with his father Ronald Parker. That was his greatest joy, to do what he loved for so many years with his dad by his side. Although he was a farmer he truly enjoyed ranching and cattle the most. Dean was not a religious man, but he was a believer. He didn't go to church or recite scriptures, but he lived his life with integrity and God by his side. As he was cleaning out his father's things the one thing that was important to him was his mom and dad's Bible, for whatever reason only he will know.
He enjoyed being a host parent and helping Karval school any way he could. Even though he wasn't your “typical” pick for a host family he certainly embraced being a host parent. Dean always wanted the kids that were not chosen by other host families. He wasn't much of a cook, so he would load the kids up and take them to the city. There they could enjoy a good meal and food of their choice. The laughs and stories he would tell about these kids were priceless.
To describe him and his life is quite simple. If you ever needed something, you could call Dean and he would help where he could. If he had what you needed, he wouldn't hesitate to lend it to you or give it to you. That's as simple as it gets.
Dean was taken from us on Sunday November 26, 2017, we are saddened by his loss and he will be missed dearly.
So, tell that someone that you love just what you're thinking of…if tomorrow never comes
