Obituary of Dorothy "Dottie" A. Kliesen

Dorothy “Dottie” Armella Kliesen, age 85, of Aurora, Colorado, passed away Thursday, April 27, 2017, at her home in Aurora. Dottie was born on January 23, 1932, in Plains, Kansas, to John and Victoria (Herrman) Dreitz. She was one of four children. Dottie graduated high school from Sacred Heart Academy in Wichita, Kansas, in 1950. On May 29, 1951, Dottie married the love of her life, Leon Kliesen, in Stratton, Colorado. The couple was blessed with three children. Dottie was a member of the Risen Christ Catholic Church in Denver. She enjoyed reading, sewing, skiing and hiking with friends in the mountains during her younger years. Dottie is survived by her daughter Jody (Kliesen) Grosshans, and son-in-law Mike Grosshans, of Aurora, Colorado, and son Dennis Kliesen, of Mission Viejo, California. Six surviving grandchildren; Chad, Shawn, Brent, McKenzie, Jennifer and Dawnielle, as well as several great grandchildren. Dottie was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one son, Darrell; two brothers, Wilbert and Alvin; one sister, Mary; and a daughter-in-law, Mary.
