Obituary of Edward "Ed" Eugene Glover
Edward Glover, 90, of Limon, CO passed away Wednesday February 22, 2017. His long and hard fought battle with cancer ended peacefully at the hospital in Hugo, CO. Many family members were at his side.
He was born January 23, 1927 in Copeland, Kansas to his parents Jessie (Schuman) & Spencer Glover. Ed was very proud to have served in the United States Navy during World War II. Because of that service he did not graduate from high school until 2008 when Simla High School honored him with his diploma at their annual graduation ceremony. That occasion will always be remembered and cherished by him and his family. In September 2012 Ed was part of an honor flight for war veterans through VFW and the American Legion to Washington D.C. For years Edward picked up and hauled milk from dairies in the Matheson, Simla and Calhan areas. Later, he was a heavy equipment operator/mechanic for various construction companies.
Edward is survived by his wife of twenty years, Linda (Hendrix), two brothers, Gary (Georgianna) & Dale (Lynne) both of Calhan, five children, Cheryl (Dennis) Carter of Ellicott, Ellen (Dan) Stewart of Surprise, AZ, Lynn (Gerilyn) Glover of Simla, Dan (Cheryl) Glover of Georgetown, TX and Ed Glover Jr. of Surprise, AZ. He has 22 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. He is also survived by 8 step children, Patty (Terry) Lovesee, Rich (Jennie) Hoefler, Mike (David) Hoefler, Marge (Don) Tracy, Jerry (Barb) Hoefler, Becky ( Gary Bradberry, Lahna (Ron) Wimmer, Melodie (Gale) Lukow and their families.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Nyla (Leyerle), wife, Noreen (Tinsley), sisters, Wilma Hurst, Lois Yarnell, Etta Fern Ashcraft and Edna Mae Boettger, brothers, Ellis and Ivan Glover.
