Obituary of Marvel A. Geiken
Marvel A. (Minor) Geiken, was born to Charles E. and Carrie (Nelson) Minor on August 26, 1926 in Bird City, KS. She was one of 8 children, 6 sisters and 1 brother. The family lived in Bird City, KS, MacDonald, KS and Yuma, CO.
After working in the ship yards for Kaiser, Marvel returned to Seibert.
She married Stanley Geiken on November 10, 1949, and they raised 3 children, Patricia Mulay, Bobby Stevens, and Marilynne Jones.
She was a member of Nazarene Church as a child, then United Methodist in Seibert. She was involved in Y-F Groups, sang in the choir, and was a member of Rebeccah lodge for 45 years. Her hobbies were ceramics, quilting, cooking and entertaining.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Stanley of 56 years, sisters, Lola, Margie, Nadine, and Melva and spouses, brother Junior.
Survived by children Patricia Mulay and children Tamra, Timothy and Tricia and families, son Bobby and wife Cathy and children, Paul, Aaron and Luke and families, and Marilynne Jones (Ervin) and children Michelle Wingert (Matt) and Stacy Jones (Helen). Patricia’s grandchildren John Peavler (Claire), Kyle Hance, Kelsi Hance, Shannon McGriff, Danielle (Drew) Potts, great grandchildren, Timothy Junior (Jessica Bell) Lucus, Jack, Melody, Harper, Olivia, Madeline. Marilynne’s grandchildren, Brandon (Kayleigh), Brittany, Preston, Alexander, and Gabriel. Bob’s grandchildren, Lydon, Kierara, Penelope, Tanessia, and Georgia.
