Shirley âJeannieâ? Jolly 71, of Deer Trail, Colorado passed away June 9, 2008 at the Aurora Medical Center in Aurora, Colorado.
Shirley Jean Jolly was born on December 30, 1936 at Ordway, Colorado to Melvin B. and Dorothy (Jackson) Savage. She attended school in Ordway, Colorado and graduated from Ordway high school in 1953. The following year she attended Bob Jones University in Greenville, South Carolina. Jeannie married John Jolly on November 28, 1954 and to this union three children were born; Laurie, Cindy and John.
Jeannie was very active in politics serving as a republican committee woman. She held the office as a county delegate and state delegate for the Republican Party. Jeannie traveled extensively photographing many memorable scenes from her trips and creating cards and pictures out of them for friends and family to enjoy. Another interest of Jeannieâs was collecting elephants as her home is full of these collections. More than anything Jeannie was a caring Wife, Mother and Grandmother; family was truly the most important part of her life.
Jeannie was preceded in death by her Father Melvin B. Savage, one brother Dorman Savage and one cousin Janey Apadoca.
Jeannie is survived by her mother Dorothy Savage of Ordway, CO, husband John Jolly of Deer Trail, CO, Three Children; Laurie (Rick) Williams of Council Grove, KS, Cindy (Kelly) Downey of Dodge City, KS, John M (Kerri) Jolly of Deer Trail, CO and an Honorary Daughter Tammy Gallegos of Aurora, CO. Seven grandchildren; Savannah (Jake) Charleston of Reeds, MO, Shawn Downey of Dodge City, KS, Tyler Jolly of Deer Trail, CO, Katie Jolly of Deer Trail, CO, Jenna Jolly of Deer Trail, CO, Cara Jolly of Deer Trail, CO, and Kelly (Frank) Hutchinson of Council Grove, KS. Also surviving are three great grandchildren Dylan Booth, Zoe Hutchinson, Willow Hutchinson and one great grandson on the way.
Funeral services were held 10:30 A.M. Friday June 13, 2008 at the Deer Trail School Gymnasium. Visitation was held from 1:00 â 4:00 P.M. June 12, 2008 at the Love Funeral Home in Limon, Colorado.
