Obituary of Frank Harwood

Frank Nelson Harwood, age 95 of Arriba, Colorado passed away December 1, 2008 at his home.
Frank was born December 25, 1912 to Samuel and Fanny (Shook) Harwood. He was born in a sod house at the family homestead fifteen miles north of Flagler. Frank attended country school through the 11th grade.
Frank married Dorothy Mae Stedman on August 21, 1934 in Akron, Colorado to this union four children were born. Frank and Dorothy lived in the Flagler area where they farmed and ranched.
Frank was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge, the Thurman Supper Club, the Senior Citizens Band, and a past 4-H leader in the 1940âs. He enjoyed working the land and raising cattle. He was a talented musician and liked to play cards and fish in his later years.
Frank is survived by his children Coreena Ulrich of Flagler, CO, Carl and wife Deborah Harwood of Ft. Myers, FL, Sharon and husband Fred Reiter of Flagler, CO and Earl Harwood of Akron, CO. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents Samuel and Fanny, wife Dorothy, one grandson Chris, one great grandson Damon, one brother Leighton, two sisters Rachel Kyle and Hazel Conger, two nieces and two nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday, December 5, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the Flagler Baptist Church with Pastor Alvin Wilkerson and Pastor Bob Strauch officiating. Burial will follow in the Flagler Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Thursday, December 4, 2008 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Love Funeral Home in Limon.
