Obituary of Laura Pakuer

Laura Pauline Pakuer was born December 11, 1910 to Frank Brockman and Minnie Pauline (Protze) Woodard at Ramah, Colorado. Laura passed away December 13, 2008 at Lincoln Community Hospital in Hugo two days following her 98th birthday.
She received her education while attending Red School and Peak View School finishing the 8th grade in 1924.
Laura married Floyd Pakuer on October 29, 1926 at Kiowa, Colorado. To this union four children were born, Ethel Louise, Treva Mae, Floyd Ross and Lloyd Dale.
Laura accepted the Lord as an adult and was baptized at First Baptist Church in Simla. She spent many hours reading her bible.
Floyd and Laura spent their early married years traveling across Elbert Count while Floyd worked on roads and bridges. They lived at various places north of Ramah before moving north of Simla in 1941 to what she referred to in later years as âparadise valleyâ?.
Laura was a mother and homemaker all her life. She loved to crochet, making beautiful table cloths and afghans. She will be remembered as a very good cook and many a good meal was enjoyed at her table. Laura loved her family and enjoyed visits with the grandkids ever so much.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Treva, son Lloyd Dale, granddaughter Sandra, sister Myrtle Robertson, brothers; Roy (Bud), Norman & Harold Woodard and four stepsisters and one stepbrother.
Laura is survived by her children, Ethel (Del) Carter of Simla and Floyd (Colleen) Pakuer of Deer Trail. Also surviving are grandchildren, Zane Carter, Lane Carter, JoDee Monks, Buddy Pakuer, Jeri Digby and eight great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren and step brothers, Robbie and Kenny Gair.
A memorial service for Laura will be held Saturday, December 20, 1008, 2:00 P.M. at the Love Funeral Home Chapel with Tim Tucker officiating.
