Obituary of Jack Burian

Longtime Seibert, Colorado resident Jack Andrew Burian, age 50, died Sunday December 14, 2008 at the University Hospital of Aurora in Aurora, Colorado.
Jack was born July 8, 1958 in Fairbury, Nebraska to Thomas Joseph and Nadine Ruth (Kemper) Burian.
He attended and graduated from Hi-Plains High School in 1978. Jack served his country in the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged in February 1984.
On August 11, 1990, Jack was united in marriage to Cheryl Ann Pickard in Stratton, Colorado. They have two children Rita Elise and Seth Jackson.
Jack was very well known in eastern Colorado and made many friends as the owner and operator of the Seibert Travel Plaza, Stratton Conoco, Burian Fuel Sales, and JB Auto. He was a member of the St. Charles Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, the High Plains School Board, Vona Lions Club, and the Stratton American Legion.
Those left to cherish Jackâs memory are his loving wife of eighteen years Cheryl, of their home in Seibert. His children Elise Burian of Denver and Seth Burian of Seibert. Also surviving are his parents Tom and Nadine Burian of Vona, two brothers Joseph âJoeâ? Burian and his wife Sharon of Highlands Ranch, CO and Jeff Burian and wife Misty of Vona, CO. Four sisters; Barbara Duvall and husband Gene of Seibert, Julia Baylie and husband Jim of Vona, CO, Kristy Richie and husband Van Dale of Seibert and Nikki Marzolf and husband Mike of Seibert. He is also survived by his father and mother-in-law Kenneth and JoAnn Pickard of Vona, CO and brother and sister-in-law Pat and Rita Rueb of Vona, CO, and a host of nieces nephews and many special friends.
Funeral services for Jack will be held Thursday, December 18, 2008 at 10:30 AM at the St. Charles Catholic Church in Stratton, CO. Father George Fagan presiding and special remarks by Pastor Bob Strauch. Burial will follow in the Vona Cemetery with military honors by Peterson Air Force Base and the Stratton American Legion.
Memorials may be made in Jackâs name toward his childrenâs education fund, or the Hi Plains Booster Club of Seibert and may be left at or sent to the Colorado East Bank and Trust in Stratton, CO.
A rosary service was held Wednesday December 17 at St Charles Catholic Church in Stratton at 6:30 PM.
