Obituary of Ella Jeffries

Ella Louise Jeffries, age 65, of Limon, Colorado passed away January 1, 2009 in Denver, Colorado.Ella was born on November 10, 1943 to Jake and Mable Weimer in Fort Morgan, Colorado. She was the third of six children born to this union.Ella spent most of her childhood in Ft. Morgan and Wiggins and in 1961 she graduated from Adams City High School in Commerce City, Colorado. Following graduation, Ella married her high school sweetheart, Mike Jeffries, on September 17, 1961 in Commerce City, Colorado. To this union three children were born: Scott, Sherri and Steve.Ella and Mike raised their family in Denver until Mike joined the Colorado State Patrol in 1970 and was assigned to Limon, Colorado. During this time, Ella worked for the East Central BOCES. In 1987, Mike was transferred back to the Denver area. While living there, Ella worked as a bookkeeper for Rocky Flats as well as the Colorado State Patrol. Following Mikeâs retirement in 2000, the couple moved back to Limon to be closer to family.Ellaâs pride and joy was her family, especially her grandchildren. She rarely missed a school function or sporting event they were involved in. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Limon. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, decorating cakes, cross stitch, working cross word puzzles and bowling in her younger years. In 1985, Ella was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. She also battled cancer in 1999 and suffered a heart attack in 2006. Through it all, Ella maintained her sweet and caring nature.Ella was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents; four brothers-in-law, Ralph Skeels, Sam Nuss, George Harris, and Wayne Skovgaard; and one sister-in-law, Peggy Arnce.Ella is survived by her husband Mike Jeffries of Limon, CO, children Scott Jeffries and partner Larry Wyzgala of Lakewood, CO, Sherri and husband Ted Bandy and their children Dami and Tyler of Limon, CO, and Steve and wife Gina Jeffries and their son Trey of Limon, CO, siblings Judy Nuss of Westminster, CO, Jane Skeels of Thornton, CO, Mike and wife Jacque Weimer of Wiggins, CO, Rick Weimer and partner Brent Dice of Brighton, CO, Jacob and wife Valerie Weimer of Thornton, CO, brother-in-law and sisters-in-law Betty Harris of Thornton, CO, Virginia Skovgaard of Colorado Springs, CO, Bill Jeffries of Norwalk, CA and Carol and husband Joe Hunter of St. Louis, MO. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.A funeral services will be held Monday, January 5, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at the United Methodist Church, Limon, CO with Rev. Raymond Larson, officiating.Visitation will be held Sunday, January 4, 2009 from 2:00 - 6:00 P.M. at the Love Funeral Home in Limon, Colorado.Memorial Contributions are suggested to the Colorado Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Broadway Station 900 S.
