Curt, Brenda and Family, You all have had more than your share of grief in such a short time. (I can relate with this.) My heart, thoughts and prayers go out to you during this trying time. My hope and prayer is that you grow closer to the Lord and receive comfort and strength from Him at this time. Like it has been said a few times, your mom and dad are with each other in the Lord's presence right now. :) God Bless! With Love, Darvon and Laura Henry

Dear Family of Howard Smithburg, I want to express my sincere sympathy for the loss of your loved one. You can be assured that comfort and encouragement can be found in the Bible. At Revelations 21: 4 you can read of a time when pain and suffering will be no more. What a wonderful hope. Please take care of yourselves. Sincerely

Brenda,John and families- I did not know your father except when I worked at the clinic. He and your mother came in several times while I was working the front desk- Kind and tender are the words I would use to describe my short visits with them. My prayers continue to be with all of you. As Christians, we can find comfort in God's Word. "To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord"! In Friendship, Jan Johnson- Prov.3:5&6

I will continue my condolences and memories of a great couple who loved each other very much. When I first met Howard I thought he seemed so quiet, but as we became good friends I realized why Vi had grabbed this great guy. He was so kind to my husband,Carl, and was quite emotional when Carl passed away. If Howard liked you he would give you the shirt off his back. He will be missed, as well as Vi, by their many friends here in Sun City West. Brenda and Curtis please accept my deepest condolences. You are very lucky to have had such great parents!

Although it is difficult today to see beyond the sorrow, May looking back in memory help comfort you tomorrow. Howard called Duane about a year ago to talk about old times. Duane used to go with the Smithburgs to harvest in Kansas. Howard recalled that Duane forgot his pillow one time. The crew had to bunk on the floor of an old building. The problem of "No pillow" didn't bother Duane. He used a scoop shovel for a pillow. They always worked hard, but they always had fun. My sincere sympathies. Mrs. Duane (Betty) Kaufman
